Trethevy Quoit

A digital "infra-red" style image of a quoit located south of Bodmin Moor in East Cornwall, England.

A quoit is a chamber tomb and is an example of Man's early activities.

Trethevy Quoit is a well preserved example, probably built before 2000BC.

It is not known how such great weights were manoeuvered into position.

Lanyon Quoit

A digital "infra-red" style image of a quoit located near Madron in West Penwith, Cornwall

A disused engine house - a relic of Cornwall's tin mining industry - can be seen on the skyline.

Man in the Black Hat

A solarised wet chemistry print.

A double exposure was made at the printing stage to give the solarised effect.

Solarisation results in the reversal of highlights and shadows.

Wooden Expression

A wood carving at the harbourside in Whitby, Yorkshire

The chisel marks left in the wood adds to the reality of the piece and seems to match perfectly the expression of the character.
